Faculty of Engineering obtained the second position in The Best Graduation Project Contest, 2017

In a ceremony attended by Eng. Tarek El-Nabarawy, Head of Engineering Syndicate, Mechanical Engineering department, announced the five winners in The Best Graduation Project Contest for graduates of Faculties of Engineering, Mechanical department. This championship is organized by Mechanical department in cooperation with SKF Company for the second year successively. The winner of the first position for this year is “Desalinating Sea Water using Waves’ Energy”, a graduation project presented by a number of graduates of The Higher Institute for Engineering in El-Arish. The winner of the Second position is “Smart Parking for Cars”, a graduation project prepared by a group of graduates of Faculty of Engineering, Modern University for Technology and Information (MTI). The graduates of Mechanical department, Faculty of Engineering, Modern University for Technology and Information (MTI) spring 2017, who presented “Smart Parking for Cars” Project were honored in the ceremony. They are: Eng. Alaa El-Din Amr Hussien Eng. Wesam Saleh Eng. Islam Mohamed Abdel-Hamid Eng. Mohamed Wagih Ramadan Eng. Ahmed Sayed Abd- Allah During the ceremony, Engineer Hatem Sadek, Head of the Mechanical department, said that the department is always keen to encourage fresh engineers to create and innovate and always seek to support their cognition through training and presenting awards for graduation projects, pointing out that the arbitration committee was committed to the absolute transparency and complete objectivity. Sadek, invited all fresh engineers who presented their graduation projects to participate in the Mechanical Engineering Conference to be held in early December to present their graduation projects during the conference, which will be attended by major engineering and industrial companies. Engineer Alaa Eldin Ragab, CEO of the SKF Company, added that the selection of the winning graduation projects was based mainly on the ability of the project to be implemented and the extent of its contribution to the service of industry and the society. He pointed to the increasing number of contestants this year which is about 56 projects. He emphasized that, only 19 projects met the conditions of the contest last year, but the number increased this year to reach 36 of the 56 projects submitted to the contest board. Ragab asked fresh engineers to continue learning. He said “Graduation from the university is the beginning of the way to optional learning, away from the curriculum that was taught at universities”.
